Countdown to Freiberg – Science, Cooperation, and a Bit of Chaos

How does science become an adventure? In "Countdown Freiberg"—a new Minecraft-based adventure from TU Bergakademie Freiberg—you and your team explore *terra mineralia*, the *Reiche Zeche* mine, and other famous landmarks within a meticulously recreated version of Freiberg. Along the way, you solve puzzles, collaborate, and playfully discover real-world research topics related to raw materials, sustainability, and materials science. "Countdown Freiberg" is designed for young people aged 14 and up, blending gaming with science. The game is suitable for classroom use as well as for anyone wishing to experience Freiberg and its research in a whole new way. Free teaching materials for various subjects and grade levels are also available. All you need to play is a Minecraft license; "Countdown Freiberg" itself and all accompanying materials are free of charge.
