Accessibility (terra mineralia and Mineralogical Collection Germany)
Regarding our visitors, we would like to make a pleasant stay possible. So, we offer a visitor-friendly service:
Two disabled parking spaces are situated at the Schloßplatz, in front of the Freudenstein Castle.
terra mineralia (Freudenstein Castle): To the right of the entrance there is a ramp for wheelchair users and prams.
The Mineralogical Collection Germany in the Krugerhaus is accessible to wheelchair users via the large gate.
terra mineralia in Freudenstein Castle: many benches are available for resting and observing particularly beautiful minerals. Museum stools for adults and children can be taken to the exhibitions. They are located in front of the white lockers.
Mineralogical Collection Germany in the Krugerhaus: The museum stools are in the cloakroom.
A wheelchair is available at terra mineralia for wheelchair users or visitors whose mobility is restricted. It can be borrowed by cash desk staff on presentation of an identity card or driving licence.
terra mineralia (Freudenstein Castle): Located on the ground floor to the left of the passenger elevator and always accessible.
Mineralogische Sammlung Deutschland at the Krügerhaus: Located on the 2nd floor and accessible by passenger elevator.
WC for disabled persons
This WC, which is always accessible, is situated on the ground floor, left to the passenger lift.
Baby’s changing table
A baby's changing table is available in the disabled WCs of the two exhibitions.
Programmes for disabled persons in the terra mineralia
A special programme has been developed in order to present the beauty and variety of minerals to blind people and visually impaired people. So, it is not only possible to touch stones but also to smell and to hear them. In addition, there are elucidations on crystal faces and the development as well as use of minerals.
