Children design kids trail for terra mineralia special exhibition
On Monday 16 January at 2pm, pupils from Years 3 and 4 at the Clemens Winkler Primary School in Freiberg will meet at terra mineralia for the first time to work on a very special project. Over the coming months, they’ll be designing and developing the kids’ trail for the CSI Freiberg. Murder at terra mineralia special exhibition.
The children’s section of the exhibition is called Gecko Gustav is looking for his rock and revolves around a pet belonging to renowned scientist Professor Kathrin Bauer. Together with the lizard, the young investigators will go on a hunt for clues to find the missing hiding stone from Gustav’s terrarium and thus solve the murder.
The story will be brought to life in the MuseobilBOX – Museum zum Selbermachen craft box. Here, participating pupils will produce twelve exciting stations with the help of a designer and a budding geologist.
The pupils will meet ten more times before the opening on 12 April 2017. As they do, they’ll become acquainted with the terra mineralia exhibition and special exhibition.
The MuseobilBOX is sponsored by the Federal Association for Museum Education under the Federal Ministry for Education and Research’s Kultur macht stark (‘Culture gives you strength’) programme. For the project’s implementation, a local educational alliance has been formed between terra mineralia, the Clemens Winkler Primary School and the Oederan Volkskunstschule.
